We usually advise going through a building notice for straight forward conversions and having building control assess and approve the work through the stages so you have full documentation if selling on in future. If the garage conversion is more complex and detailed with drainage works etc. then architect drawings are often advised. Either way we will walk you through the process.

Starting the project
Initially we arranged a visit with the client, talked through options based on the client's ideas and discussed building control & planning. We then highlighted our processes: talking about insulation; electrics; fire provisions (including smoke detectors and fire escape windows), all to meet current regulations. On acceptance of the estimate, we formulated a timescale, specification details and then began work.
The build and final result
Throughout the work, the client was kept fully aware of the progress and of any further decisions that needed to be made.
